Music Spotlight: Ado
We sometimes find our toes tapping to the music while watching our featured webisodes; it’s hard not to! Our work is about uncovering stories, and that includes digging up hidden talents.
For every GreenHero webisode, we chose to feature an up and coming musical talent, dozens of musicians that we’re so excited to partner with for the GreenHeroes project.
For Jane Goodall’s webisode, we were inspired by her work with chimpanzees in Africa and the positive change that has sprouted from her discoveries there; we found a blissful match in the music of Ado Makuntima.
Ado hales from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ado’s a musical success story, with six albums to prove his artistry. He’s also hard at work as a writer, teacher and television producer!
He’s a part of a great initiative called Ondes Africaines (African Waves, website in French), providing assistance and promotion through media to French-speaking African and Canadians in Ontario.
Below is Greg Nisbet from Mediazoic interviewing GreenHeroes.tv producer Joan Prowse about choosing Canadian music artists for our videos.
